Small Wonders

As I sit & reflect on the week, I am in awe of the smallest of creatures God has created ~ a squirrel. I have always been intrigued by this animal. They are so adorable! When I was little, I always carried around my stuffed squirrel, "Nutsy" ~ took him everywhere! Mom had to sew his tail so many times because that's how I would carry him. Poor guy. lol ;-)

Mid week, I took a road trip. On the way home, I stopped at the church to clean (it was our week). As I pulled into the driveway, this little guy was hanging out. I remember being on the phone with Mom, stopped the vehicle, pulled out my camera & proceeded to take a picture. It was like he was waiting there, just to welcome ME to God's house! A small reminder He loves us, wants to make us happy and is in control of each and every path we follow.

This picture was also a reminder of life. Talking to Mom. Flowers blooming. My favorite animal. It made me smile, as this day was 33 years of LIFE I had been BLESSED to live. God is GOOD!!!!! :-) Thank you Lord for your many, many gifts to us!! If we truly open our eyes to see, you show us exactly what we need and you give us moments that make us SMILE!!!!! :-)

Saturday Mornings

Well, here it is...my first ever blog ~ so exciting! :-)

Today is relaxing. Feels good. Woke up, fed the cats, did some laundry, drank some coffee (very important!), talked to Mom, had breakfast. Are you excited yet?! lol

Anyways, I love Saturday mornings. I get the weekends off work, so it's nice to have a whole day to myself to do whatever it is I feel like ~ gotta love it! ;-)

The weather lately has been nice. So nice, that I finally got to turn the heat off & open the windows! The cats especially love it when I open the front door. They get to sit there in front of the screen door, listening to the birds outside. It reminds me of God's creatures, even the small ones are important!

In my Bible reading this morning, I read of Jacob. It's interesting how he was led to a well, met Rachel and ended up working for her father for the next 7 years, just so he could marry her. The day came and it seemed to Jacob to only have been 7 days. I can't even imagine how Jacob felt at this moment. He waited so very patiently for this special day & then woke up the next morning, only to discover the father had tricked him, giving him Leah, NOT Rachel. For as the father said, it is our custom that the eldest daughter be wed first. SO, what does Jacob do, but work for him another 7 years, so he could finally marry the daughter he loved so dearly.

It reminds me that GOD is in CONTROL!!! God knows the path we must follow & knows what is best for us.....what WE need to be stronger individuals. For some reason, God allowed Jacob to endure these many years of service. It probably made him appreciate his 2nd wife SOOOO much!!! So, how does this story apply to me?!

It teaches me patience. Patience to wait on the Lord, be of good courage & HE shall strengthen me! When we leave everything in God's hands, we can live each day, knowing that we are doing HIS work. Whatever that may be.

Are YOU waiting patiently for the Lord?!
Are YOU living each day for HIM?!
